  1. Some of the exercises shown are done without weights and thus one can do far more than the 8-12 number of reps. Would that mean that squats are best? Also, do leg press machines count as squats?

    And, finally, as one is working on the butt, are there counter muscle groups to be exercised so as to maintain balance?

    1. Going through a pretty full range of motion on squats covers all necessary agonist/antagonist muscles (agonists are the primary targets, antagonists are the opposing muscles). If you do leg press, then you need to do a few other movements/exercises. Add leg curls, back extensions, and hanging knee raises, for example.
